Good thing I already voted and it wasn’t for John Edwards.
Couple of people have mentioned his need to capitalize on Hillary Clinton’s supposed “breakdown” (yeah right.)
Scott Lemieux and the ladies of Feministe do a better job on this than I will right now. But seriously, we don’t need to be embracing sexism just to win elections. Nor do we need to embrace the blatant race-baiting that the Clinton campaign’s engaged in. So who wins in this mess, really?
Oh, this whole Hillary Breakdown thing has been pissing me off so much! I meant to blog about it, but I’ve been sick.
Any time she shows a faint glimmer of emotion, the press gets all over her for being, “angry” or “upset”. Let’s get this straight, she is guilty of nothing but getting as passionate as her male rivals. I’ve seen Mitt get as fiesty but nobody accuses him of being close to breakdown. Showing her humanity shouldn’t cost her voters.I mean really, her behavior is nowhere near the level of the “outbursts” that supposedly cost Howard Dean his credibility in 2004. A very small group of voters has even said that they like seeing Hill’s sensitive side.
I may not agree with her on everything, but I think it’s pretty obvious that the press is hanging her out to dry for being a woman.
