(Violence against women and its portrayal in the media is one of my major topics of study, and I’ll be all over this soon, I promise. Because violence against trans women is both violence against women and boundary policing, both abusing a victim that is easy to pick on, that society won’t blame you for, and the media portrays it consistently like the trans person in question was asking for it. And fuck them.)

yep frau sally I did blog about Angie. I specifically questioned the silence in the blogosphere when it comes to trans women. I simply do not understand how some women who identify as feminist can ignore violence against trans women. If they cannot recognize them as women, honoring our shared humanity alone should be enough for them to speak out against violence.
Violence against women in the media seems to follow a hierarchy and we can all guess who the most important victims are…
